Hospitality Vibes
The Positive Energy When People Interact with Like-Minded People

A Reflection, A Vision, A Vibe
Hospitality Vibes is my reflection on the future of the hospitality industry. I care about this industry because my amigos (my students’ nickname) work for the hospitality industry and adjacent sectors. Yet, the future of the hospitality industry is not promising. Societal changes and technology have created a perfect storm, and the hospitality industry cannot count on the old success factors to get it out of the perfect storm.

How do we get out of the perfect storm? I investigated different social sciences to find theoretical backbones for my Hospitality Vibes concept. Hospitality Vibes is not a story of my personal experience, but a new notion built on the thought leaders’ achievements. I leveraged my deep understanding of the hospitality industry and made this book applicable to industry practitioners. Furthermore, I also interviewed industry legends and thought leaders to make the content relevant to practitioners.

The purpose of the book is to initiate a conversation and provoke a different mindset. Together, we can get the hospitality industry out of the perfect storm and become stronger than ever.
Rooted in Taiwan, Living the World
I am a Taiwanese American, more Taiwanese than American. I have been a faculty member at EHL Hospitality Business School, also known as École hôtelière de Lausanne, since the early 2000s.
I am grateful for my global experiences and the people I met during my journey. I received my education from Taiwan, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Through my job at EHL, I have the pleasure of working in different countries as a consultant or a visiting professor. Interacting and staying connected with like-minded people brings tremendous joy to my life.
I have lived in Lausanne, Switzerland for more than 20 years. I love traveling and meeting my amigos around the world. When I am not traveling, I enjoy spending time with my friends, learning new stuff, and planning for my next trip.
Hospitality in Heart, Creativity in Hand
I was born and raised in Argentina, with Taiwanese roots that keep me connected to my heritage. My journey has taken me from the world of hospitality consulting to education, where I now work as a Teaching Assistant at EHL Hospitality Business School, supporting a number of professors including Maggie Chen.

As a graduate of EHL, I carry the values of hospitality with me in everything I do. What I appreciate most about my current role is witnessing the growth of students and having the chance to be part of their journeys. It is a fulfilling experience that reminds me of how impactful education can be.

I have a deep love for design and reading, and I am always curious to explore new things, especially when it comes to learning musical instruments. These creative outlets keep me grounded and inspired, whether I am at home or planning my next endeavor.
